Ap—0 to 13 centimeters (0.0 to 5.1 inches); brown (10YR 5/3) Error; weak coarse granular structure; friable; fragments; abrupt wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008502. A thin wavy very dark gray (10YR 3/1) A1 less than 0.5 inch thick occurs at the surface. The Ap is old and is approaching an A2.
EB—13 to 18 centimeters (5.1 to 7.1 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) Error; weak coarse granular structure; friable; 1 percent fine distinct brownish yellow (10YR 6/6), moist, masses of oxidized iron; fragments; clear smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008503
B1—18 to 33 centimeters (7.1 to 13.0 inches); strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) Error; subangular blocky, and granular structure; friable; fragments; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008504. Some granular structure occurs in old root channels.
B2—33 to 46 centimeters (13.0 to 18.1 inches); strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) Error; subangular blocky, and granular structure; firm; faint reddish brown (5YR 4/4), moist, clay films; fragments; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008505. Some granular structure occurs in old root channels.
B3—46 to 64 centimeters (18.1 to 25.2 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) Error; firm; faint reddish brown (5YR 5/4), moist, clay films; black (10YR 2/1), moist, manganese coatings; fragments; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008506
2BC1—64 to 79 centimeters (25.2 to 31.1 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) Error; very firm; faint clay films; black (10YR 2/1), moist, manganese masses; 50 percent by volume nonflat indurated unspecified fragments; gradual boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008507. Red (2.5YR 5/8) and brownish yellow (10YR 6/8) sandstone fragments. This zone marks the boundary of loess deposition and apparently coincides with a A2? horizon.
2BC2—79 to 114 centimeters (31.1 to 44.9 inches); yellow (10YR 7/6) and reddish yellow (7.5YR 6/6) Error; fine subangular blocky structure; firm; black (10YR 2/1), moist, manganese coatings and 1 percent fine distinct light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4), moist, masses of reduced iron; 75 percent by volume nonflat indurated unspecified fragments; gradual boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008508. Coarse skeleton of sandstone fragments.
