Ap—0 to 20 centimeters (0.0 to 7.9 inches); brown (10YR 5/3) Error; moderate medium granular structure; friable; fragments; neutral, pH 6.8; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008947
BA—20 to 30 centimeters (7.9 to 11.8 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) Error; fine subangular blocky structure; friable; fragments; strongly acid, pH 5.5; clear smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008948. A few small pebbles.
B1—30 to 41 centimeters (11.8 to 16.1 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) Error; medium subangular blocky structure; firm; faint brown (7.5YR 4/4), moist, clay films; fragments; strongly acid, pH 5.5; clear smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008949. A few small pebbles up to 1 inch in diameter are mostly erratics.
B2—41 to 53 centimeters (16.1 to 20.9 inches); brown (7.5YR 5/4) Error; strong medium subangular blocky structure; firm; faint brown (7.5YR 5/4), moist, clay films; fragments; strongly acid, pH 5.4; clear wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008950. A few small pebbles up to 1 inch in diameter are mostly erratics.
2B3—53 to 61 centimeters (20.9 to 24.0 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) Error; moderate coarse subangular blocky structure; firm; faint dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4), moist, clay films; iron-manganese concretions lining pores; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.8; clear wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008951. Quite sticky when wet. No pebbles were observed.
2B4—61 to 76 centimeters (24.0 to 29.9 inches); brown (7.5YR 4/2) Error; moderate coarse angular blocky, and prismatic structure; very firm; fragments; neutral, pH 6.8; abrupt wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008952. Very sticky and plastic when wet. No pebbles were observed. In one fracture this horizon extended 2 feet, but generally the boundary occurred within a 6 to 8 inch zone.
2BC—76 to 91 centimeters (29.9 to 35.8 inches); brown (7.5YR 4/2) Error; prismatic, and moderate coarse angular blocky structure; very firm; fragments; neutral, pH 6.8; abrupt wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0008953. Very sticky and plastic when wet. No pebbles were observed. Fragments and protrusions of the underlying dolomitic limestone extend into this horizon. The limestone is slightly to quite weathered.
2C—91 to 107 centimeters (35.8 to 42.1 inches); fragments. Lab sample # OSU0008954. Slightly weathered dolomitic limestone that has a yellowish brown surface and a gray interior, fragmented and fractured. Some of the B4 horizon extends through this zone.
