Ap—0 to 20 centimeters (0.0 to 7.9 inches); black (10YR 2/1) Error; weak medium, and angular blocky structure; very friable; fragments; neutral, pH 7.2; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0011552. Very high in organic matter. The upper part of the profile seems to have some lacustrine influence.
Bg1—20 to 36 centimeters (7.9 to 14.2 inches); black (10YR 2/1) Error; strong medium and coarse subangular blocky structure; firm; 15 percent faint clay films; fragments; slightly alkaline, pH 7.4; clear smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0011553. Coatings on the ped surfaces are slightly darker than 10YR 2/1. High in organic matter.
Bg2—36 to 61 centimeters (14.2 to 24.0 inches); dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) and dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2) Error; moderate medium prismatic, and strong angular blocky structure; extremely firm; 2 percent faint clay films; 11 percent fine faint yellowish brown (10YR 5/6), moist, masses of oxidized iron and 11 percent fine faint dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4), moist, masses of oxidized iron; fragments; slightly alkaline, pH 7.4; clear irregular boundary. Lab sample # OSU0011554. Dark coatings along all fracture planes extend into the B3 horizon.
Bg3—61 to 79 centimeters (24.0 to 31.1 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/8) Error; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; firm; 2 percent faint clay films; 33 percent medium distinct light yellowish brown (2.5Y 6/4), moist, masses of reduced iron and 33 percent medium distinct brownish yellow (10YR 6/6), moist, masses of reduced iron; fragments; slightly alkaline, pH 7.4; clear irregular boundary. Lab sample # OSU0011555
Bg4—79 to 91 centimeters (31.1 to 35.8 inches); light brownish gray (2.5Y 6/2) Error; massive; friable; yellowish brown (10YR 5/8), moist, masses of oxidized iron and brownish yellow (10YR 6/6), moist, masses of oxidized iron; fragments; slightly alkaline, pH 7.4; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0011556. Increase in coarse skeletal and large gravel content was noted.
BCg—91 to 122 centimeters (35.8 to 48.0 inches); dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) Error; massive; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6), moist, masses of oxidized iron; 20 percent by volume nonflat indurated unspecified fragments; slight effervescence. Lab sample # OSU0011557. Coarse skeleton of limestone pebbles and fragments. An increase in cobbles (3 to 6 inches in diameter) was noted.
C1—122 to 157 centimeters (48.0 to 61.8 inches); dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) and yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) Error; massive; fragments; slight effervescence. Lab sample # OSU0011558. Mottled mixture of colors.
