Ap—0 to 15 centimeters (0.0 to 5.9 inches); dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) Error; weak coarse and very coarse granular structure; very friable; fragments; neutral, pH 7.0; abrupt wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013647. Granular strucrture is best developed in the upper inch; tends toward weak thick platiness in places. Nonsticky and nonplastic when wet. Fine pores common.
E—15 to 30 centimeters (5.9 to 11.8 inches); strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) Error; weak platy, and weak subangular blocky structure; friable; light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4), moist, silt coats and 35 percent 5YR 4/ (5YR 4/), moist, clay films; 11 percent fine and medium distinct dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/6), moist, masses of reduced iron; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.6; clear boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013648. Slightly sticky and slightly plastic when wet. Mottles appear to be due to degradation processes. Clay films have a thin varnished appearance.
Bt—30 to 43 centimeters (11.8 to 16.9 inches); yellowish red (5YR 4/6) Error; medium subangular blocky structure; friable; faint 5YR 4/ (5YR 4/), moist, clay films; 1 percent fine and medium distinct strong brown (7.5YR 5/8), moist, masses of oxidized iron and 1 percent fine distinct light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4), moist, masses of reduced iron; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.6; clear wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013649. Slightly sticky and slightly plastic when wet. Few fine pores. Mottles appear to be due to degradation processes.; patchy - phpvsfiid 977890; patchy - phpvsfiid 977890
Bt—43 to 56 centimeters (16.9 to 22.0 inches); reddish brown (5YR 4/4) Error; weak angular blocky, and moderate medium prismatic structure; firm; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.6; gradual boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013650. Sticky and plastic when wet, hard to very hard when dry.
Bt—56 to 71 centimeters (22.0 to 28.0 inches); reddish brown (5YR 4/4) Error; moderate medium prismatic, and weak angular blocky structure; firm; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.6; gradual boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013651. Sticky and plastic when wet, hard to very hard when dry.
Bt—71 to 84 centimeters (28.0 to 33.1 inches); yellowish red (5YR 4/6) Error; weak angular blocky, and weak medium angular blocky structure; firm; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.8; abrupt wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013652. Sticky and plastic when wet, hard to very hard when dry.
BC—84 to 99 centimeters (33.1 to 39.0 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) Error; weak medium angular blocky structure; friable; fragments; slightly acid, pH 6.2; abrupt wavy boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013653. Sticky and plastic when wet, slightly hard when dry. Matrix texture appears to be a silt loam, but when crushed it is silty clay loam, probably due to the large prominent clay flows on the surface and the clay-filled cavities in the ped interiors.
C—99 to 102 centimeters (39.0 to 40.2 inches); brownish yellow (10YR 6/8); fragments; slight effervescence; abrupt wavy boundary. Thin, discontinuous horizon ranging from 0 to 1 inch thickness. Texture ?somewhat sandy?.
R—102 to 127 centimeters (40.2 to 50.0 inches); brownish yellow (10YR 6/8); fragments. Slightly weathered dolomitic limestone.
