    Ap—0 to 23 centimeters (0.0 to 9.1 inches); very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) Error; weak fine granular structure; fragments; moderately acid, pH 5.6; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0013005. Slightly hard. A plow pan with vertical cracks overlying turned-under organic matter appears at a depth of 7.5 to 9 inches.
    B—23 to 38 centimeters (9.1 to 15.0 inches); very dark gray (10YR 3/1) Error; strong fine and medium angular blocky structure; 11 percent medium distinct reddish brown (2.5YR 4/4), moist, masses of oxidized iron and 11 percent medium distinct weak red (2.5YR 4/2), moist, masses of oxidized iron; fragments; neutral, pH 6.7; gradual smooth boundary.
