    Ap—0 to 18 centimeters (0.0 to 7.1 inches); very dark brown (10YR 2/2), dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2), dry; loam; moderate fine granular, and moderate medium granular structure; soft, very friable, slightly plastic; fragments; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # NDSU1547. The Ap horizon is cloddy on the surface. The Ap and Bw horizons are neutral. The Ap has moderate fine and medium granular structure below the cloddy surface. Few course fragments in the Bw, Bk1, Bk2, and C horizons. Moderately alkaline in the Bk1, Bk2, and C horizons. 17% lime in Bk1, 24% in the Bk2, and 14% in the C horizon. The CaCO3 equivalent in the Bk2 is 10.46% (17-23%), 12,27% (23-29"), and 9.55 (29-35"). The CaCO3 in the C horizon is 9.09% (35-40") and 7.73% (40-44"). The Cr crushes to loam and has weak coarse platy structure.
