Ap—0 to 18 centimeters (0.0 to 7.1 inches); very dark brown (10YR 2/2), dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2), dry; silt loam; moderate fine granular, and moderate medium granular structure; soft, very friable, moderately sticky; fragments; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # NDSU1602. The Ap is cloddy on surface. The Ap and Bw are neutral. The BK, C1, C2, and Cr are moderately alkaline. Few coarse fragments found in Bw, BK, C1, and C2 horizons. 17 percent lime in BK and 14 percent in the C2 horizon. The Cr crushed to fine sandy loam.
