    A1—2 to 12 centimeters (0.8 to 4.7 inches); black (10YR 2/1) interior, black (10YR 2/1) interior, dry; clay; moderate coarse prismatic, and moderate fine subangular blocky structure; very hard, very firm, very sticky, very plastic; 5.5 very fine and fine roots; 5.5 very fine interstitial and 0.5 very fine tubular pores; fragments; slightly acid, pH 6.1, hellige-truog; clear smooth boundary. Lab sample # 84P01085. Thin intermittent surface layer with fine granular structure. Cracks up to 1 cm wide between prisms. Intermittent patches of fine gravel on about 10% of surface.; many very fine and fine roots
