  • Location Description: 11/20/2008-DRW-This pedon was copied from the NSSL pedon description (s90IL189082) taken in 1990. It is part of the SSL - Project CP91IL041 - CLINTON AND WASHINGTON COUNTY PROJECT. This pedon description was linked to Site Association "SAS - Clinton & Washington Cty (SAS) NSSL PROJECT CP91IL041". To load all the pedons in the site association use the following MLRA 11 Query: "Pedons by Site Association by Site Assoc. ID (waw)". When the prompt comes up just select: Site/Pedon/Site Association Site. Click on apply and in the Nasis Query Parameter type: *SAS*1* , click on apply and all of the pedons in this project will be loaded. This pedon was the 3rd of 4 pit descriptions taken on a NE/SW oriented landscape transect on a sodium affected landscape. Soil samples were taken and sent to the NSSL in Lincoln, NE. This pedon was georeferenced using the distances measured from the NW section corner of section 10. These distances were plotted on the Nashville NE Quarter Quad using ArcMap. The plotted point was noted in UTM's using NAD 83, Zone 16. The UTM's were then converted to Latitude/Longitude. (The original Latitude/Longitude do not appear to be as accurate. According to Matt McCauley, who was involved with the project, the Latitude/Longitude were not noted at the time of the description, but were added by someone at a later date.)
