From Koa Road, just south of Kealakekua Ranch Center in Captain Cook, bear right (southeast) at 2,390 feet elevation to reach main KDC entrance, continue upslope on main road 0.28 miles then turn right (southeast) on secondary ranch road, continue up road through gate in rock wall, up to small relatively flat area 0.50 miles from KDC main entrance soil pit dug 15 feet south of road.
