30 to 61 centimeters (11.8 to 24.0 inches); fragments. Lab sample # 95P04152. Particle size control section.
BCg—60 to 76 centimeters (23.6 to 29.9 inches); gray (N 6/0) silt loam; massive parts to weak very coarse prismatic parts to weak coarse subangular blocky; friable, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; brittle; 3.0 medium roots between peds; 3 percent medium and coarse masses of oxidized iron; fragments; clear wavy boundary. Lab sample # 95P04147
Cg1—76 to 132 centimeters (29.9 to 52.0 inches); gray (10YR 6/1) silt loam; massive parts to weak coarse subangular blocky; firm, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; brittle; 3.0 fine and medium roots between peds; 3 percent medium masses of oxidized iron; fragments; clear wavy boundary. Lab sample # 95P04148
Cg2—132 to 187 centimeters (52.0 to 73.6 inches); gray (N 6/0) silt loam; moderate medium and coarse platy structure; firm, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; brittle; 0.5 roots; 3 percent medium and coarse masses of oxidized iron; fragments; clear wavy boundary. Lab sample # 95P04149

Cg3—187 to 279 centimeters (73.6 to 109.8 inches); 50 percent light gray (10YR 7/1) and 50 percent light gray (10YR 7/2) loamy coarse sand; weak single grain; very friable, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; fragments. Lab sample # 95P04150. Between the Cg2 and Cg3 horizons there was a 2 inch (from 73 to 75 inches) deposit that was not sampled separately. The matrix color was (10YR 5/3) with (7.5YR 3/2) concentrations (m,m,p) and (7.5YR 4/6) iron concentrations with (7.5YR 5/8) around their circumference. The texture is a sandy clay loam.
