Lab sample # 97P00714. At this point the profile being described was offset about 3 meters down slope or down the ravine (approximately south). This was necessary because the boundary between 2Cdb1 and 2Cdb2 was below the surface of the water flowing down the ravine. Horizons 2Cd1 and 2Cd2 are very similar in color and texture and the horizons appear to be dipping in the direction of the offset. Thus the offset may have resulted in a light overlap, i.e., the top part of 2Cd2 may be a repeat of the bottom part of 2Cd1.
