A1—0 to 18 centimeters (0.0 to 7.1 inches); dark gray (10YR 4/1), very dark gray (10YR 3/1), moist; loam; fine granular structure; soft, very friable; fragments; noneffervescent. Lab sample # 40A18735
B1—18 to 28 centimeters (7.1 to 11.0 inches); dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2), black (2.5Y 2/1), moist; loam; weak medium prismatic parts to moderate fine granular structure; soft, very friable; fragments; noneffervescent; clear irregular boundary. Lab sample # 40A18735. Horizons A1 and B1 were sampled together in 0-11 inches.
Bca—28 to 38 centimeters (11.0 to 15.0 inches); grayish brown (2.5Y 5/2), dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2), moist; loam; weak medium prismatic parts to moderate fine granular structure; soft, very friable; 1 percent gypsum masses; fragments; strong effervescence. Lab sample # 40A18736
Cca1—38 to 79 centimeters (15.0 to 31.1 inches); pale yellow (2.5Y 7/3), light olive brown (2.5Y 5/3), moist; loam; fragments; violent effervescence. Lab sample # 40A18736. Segregated lime appears as lime flour lightening the color of the soil mass and has a few streaks and mottles of CaCO3. This horizon is sampled with the one above in the depth of 11-31 inches.
