BA—53 to 69 centimeters (20.9 to 27.2 inches); brown (7.5YR 4/2) interior, dark brown (7.5YR 3/2) interior, moist; silt loam; 20 percent sand; 54 percent silt; 27 percent clay; moderate medium subangular blocky, and moderate medium granular structure; hard, firm; fragments; moderately acid, pH 6.0, hellige-truog. Lab sample # 40A35982. worm holes, casts, pin holes and fine vertical cracks numerous; grades to horizon below.
Bt1—69 to 86 centimeters (27.2 to 33.9 inches); silty clay loam; 18 percent sand; 50 percent silt; 31 percent clay; fragments. Lab sample # 40A35983. much like the layer above but has a few medium distinct reddish brn mottles.
Bt2—86 to 102 centimeters (33.9 to 40.2 inches); reddish brown (5YR 4/3) interior, dark reddish brown (5YR 3/3) interior, moist; silty clay loam; 17 percent sand; 49 percent silt; 35 percent clay; 1 percent yellowish red (5YR 5/6) coarse distinct mottles; weak medium subangular blocky, and moderate medium granular structure; firm; fragments; slightly acid, pH 6.2, hellige-truog. Lab sample # 40A35984. peds have weakly shiny dark reddish brn clay films; fine pores and larger root channels numerous; living roots abundant.; few coarse distinct 5YR56 mottles
