A1—0 to 5 centimeters (0.0 to 2.0 inches); dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2), light gray (10YR 7/2), dry; loam; weak coarse platy parts to moderate very fine granular structure; soft, very friable; fragments; noneffervescent; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26693. the upper 1/16-or 1/8-inch is nearly a white when dry and forms a vesicular crust that is very fragile and easily broken; there are a few small pebbles scattered on the surface of this location.
B21t—5 to 13 centimeters (2.0 to 5.1 inches); dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2), brown (10YR 5/3), dry; sandy clay loam; weak coarse columnar parts to moderate coarse platy structure; slightly hard, very friable; 10 percent clay films on upper surfaces of peds or rocks; fragments; noneffervescent. Lab sample # 40A26694. platy structure is easily seen in this horizon but the coarse columns with slightly rounded tops are the primary structure; there are a few very weak and very thin patchy clay skins visible under the hand lens.; patchy - phpvsfiid 187036; patchy - phpvsfiid 187036
B22t—13 to 25 centimeters (5.1 to 9.8 inches); dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2), brown (10YR 5/3), dry; sandy clay loam; moderate coarse columnar parts to moderate coarse angular blocky structure; very hard, very firm; 10 percent clay films; fragments; noneffervescent; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26695. the tops of the aggregates in this horizon are slightly rounded. This structure most easily seen when the horizon above has been brushed away; a few weak clay skins.
B3ca—25 to 43 centimeters (9.8 to 16.9 inches); brown (10YR 5/3), very pale brown (10YR 7/3), dry; fine sandy loam; weak coarse angular blocky structure; very hard, very firm; carbonate concretions; 1 percent by volume 2-39-75 millimeter unspecified fragments; strong effervescence; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26696. the horizon contains some small calcium carbonate concretions; contains a few small gravels.
C1ca—43 to 61 centimeters (16.9 to 24.0 inches); light olive brown (2.5Y 5/3), light gray (2.5Y 7/2), dry; fine sandy loam; massive, and weak very coarse subangular blocky; very hard, very firm; fragments; strong effervescence; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26697. the horizon contains much accumulated lime principally as lime flour; horizon contains a few small gravel fragments.
C2ca—61 to 76 centimeters (24.0 to 29.9 inches); light olive brown (2.5Y 5/3), pale yellow (2.5Y 7/3), dry; fine sandy loam; massive; very hard, firm; fragments; strong effervescence; clear smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26698. the horizon contains much accumulated lime principally as lime flour; the horizon contains moderate amounts of gravel.
IIC3ca—76 to 94 centimeters (29.9 to 37.0 inches); light yellowish brown (2.5Y 6/3), pale yellow (2.5Y 8/2), dry; gravelly fine sandy loam; massive, and single grain; hard, friable; fragments; strong effervescence. Lab sample # 40A26699. the horizon contains moderate amounts of accumulated lime chiefly as lime flour.
