A1—0 to 5 centimeters (0.0 to 2.0 inches); grayish brown (10YR 5/2), light gray (10YR 7/2), dry; fine sandy loam; weak medium platy parts to moderate very fine granular structure; soft, very friable; fragments; noneffervescent; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26700. the upper 1/8 to 1/16-inch forms a very fragile crust.
B21t—5 to 13 centimeters (2.0 to 5.1 inches); brown (10YR 4/3), pale brown (10YR 6/3), dry; loam; weak coarse columnar parts to moderate medium platy structure; slightly hard, very friable; fragments; noneffervescent; abrupt wavy boundary. Lab sample # 40A26701. secondary platy structure is pronounced in this horizon although the initial form is that of a column with a slightly rounded cap.
B22tca—13 to 27 centimeters (5.1 to 10.6 inches); brown (10YR 4/3), pale brown (10YR 6/3), dry; clay loam; moderate coarse columnar parts to moderate coarse angular blocky structure; very hard, firm; 10 percent clay films; 3 percent carbonate concretions; fragments; strong effervescence; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26702. in some instances a very coarse plate an inch or two inches on a side but with their vertical axis shorter than their horizontal; the horizon contains moderate amounts of calcium carbonate concretions.
B23tca—27 to 46 centimeters (10.6 to 18.1 inches); brown (10YR 5/3), pale brown (10YR 6/3), dry; sandy clay loam; weak and moderate coarse prismatic parts to moderate coarse angular blocky structure; very hard, firm; 10 percent clay films; 3 percent carbonate masses and carbonate concretions; fragments; strong effervescence; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26703. horizon contains moderate amounts of accumulated lime partly as lime flour and partly as concretions.; patchy - phpvsfiid 187039; patchy - phpvsfiid 187039
B3ca—46 to 64 centimeters (18.1 to 25.2 inches); brown (10YR 5/3), pale brown (10YR 6/3), dry; sandy clay loam; weak coarse subangular blocky structure; very hard, firm; fragments; strong effervescence; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26704. much accumulated lime chiefly as lime flour.
C1ca—64 to 91 centimeters (25.2 to 35.8 inches); light olive brown (2.5Y 5/3), pale yellow (2.5Y 8/2), dry; fine sandy loam; massive; slightly hard, friable; fragments; strong effervescence; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A26705. the horizon contains large amounts of accumulated lime chiefly as lime flour.
IIC2ca—91 centimeters (35.8 inches); light olive brown (2.5Y 5/3), light gray (2.5Y 7/2), dry; gravelly loamy fine sand; massive, and single grain; slightly hard, very friable; fragments; strong effervescence. Lab sample # 40A26706. much accumulated lime principally as lime flour; this is the underlying strata of coarse and gravel of alluvial origin.
