A2—20 to 33 centimeters (7.9 to 13.0 inches); gray (2.5Y 5/1), light gray (10YR 7/1), dry; silty clay; yellow (10YR 7/6) coarse mottles; massive; very hard, very firm; 0.5 roots; 21.0 very fine and fine pores; fragments; extremely acid, pH 4.4, hellige-truog; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A41950. sticky and plastic; many medium worm holes; brown (10YR 5/3) coats in pores, (4 to 6 inches thick).
Bw1—33 to 45 centimeters (13.0 to 17.7 inches); pale yellow (5Y 7/3), white (5Y 8/1), dry; silty clay; light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4) coarse and strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) mottles; weak fine subangular blocky structure; very hard, firm; 0.5 roots; very fine and fine and 21.0 medium pores; fragments; very strongly acid, pH 4.6, hellige-truog; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A41951. sticky and plastic, (10 to 14 inches thick).
Bg1—45 to 105 centimeters (17.7 to 41.3 inches); gray (N 5/),, light gray (5Y 7/2), dry; silty clay; very pale brown (10YR 7/3) and yellow (10YR 7/6) and strong brown (7.5YR 5/8) mottles; massive; hard when dry, friable; weakly smeary; very fine and fine and 21.0 medium pores; fragments; extremely acid, pH 4.4, hellige-truog; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A41952. some very firm horizontal lenses; sticky and plastic; thin patchy light brown (7.5YR 6/4) coats in pores look like clay films, (3 to 6 inches thick).
Bg2—105 to 135 centimeters (41.3 to 53.1 inches); gray (5Y 5/1), pale yellow (5Y 7/3), dry; clay loam; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) and light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) and red (2.5YR 4/8) and brown (10YR 4/3) mottles; weak thick platy parts to weak fine angular blocky, and subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable; 21.0 very fine and fine and 0.5 medium pores; fragments; very strongly acid, pH 4.6, hellige-truog; clear smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A41953. sticky, plastic and smeary; moderately thick very pale brown (10YR 7/3) coats in some pores look like clay films, (4 to 6 inches thick).

Lab sample # 40A41954. brownish yellow (10YR 6/6) dry coats and horizontal bands of very pale brown (10YR 7/4), brown (7.5YR 5/4), dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2), and dark red (2.5YR 3/6); dark reddish brown (5YR 3/3) 1/8 inch thick hard discontinuous ironstone bands; sticky and plastic; thin coatings between plates.
