Lab sample # 40A04197. No macro pores in peds; the horizon extends in narrow tongues between peds into the B&A horizon.
B&A—18 to 28 centimeters (7.1 to 11.0 inches); strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) clay; 3 percent yellowish red (5YR 4/6) fine distinct mottles; moderate medium prismatic parts to weak and moderate coarse angular blocky structure; extremely firm, moderately sticky, very plastic; 3.0 roots; fragments; gradual smooth boundary. Lab sample # 40A04198. Blanched silt-rich areas occur on ped surfaces.
B21T—28 to 56 centimeters (11.0 to 22.0 inches); dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) exterior and brown (10YR 4/3) and brown (7.5YR 5/4) and brown (7.5YR 4/4) and yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) exterior clay; 3 percent yellowish red (5YR 4/6) fine distinct mottles; strong coarse prismatic parts to moderate medium prismatic parts to weak coarse angular blocky structure; extremely firm, moderately sticky, very plastic; 3.0 roots; fragments; gradual wavy boundary. Lab sample # 40A04199. No macro pores in peds; roots are restricted to ped faces; no slickensides; few sand-size grains, possibly chert.
B22T—56 to 81 centimeters (22.0 to 31.9 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) exterior and brown (7.5YR 5/4) exterior and brown (7.5YR 4/4) exterior and yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) exterior clay; 21 percent reddish brown (2.5YR 4/4) medium prominent mottles; strong coarse prismatic parts to moderate medium prismatic parts to weak coarse angular blocky structure; extremely firm, moderately sticky, very plastic; 3.0 roots; fragments; gradual wavy boundary. Lab sample # 40A04200. No macro pores in peds; roots are restricted to ped faces; no slickensides; few sand-size grains, possibly chert.
B3—81 to 109 centimeters (31.9 to 42.9 inches); strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) clay; 1 percent white (10YR 8/1) medium prominent and 21 percent yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) medium prominent and 21 percent red (2.5YR 4/6) medium prominent mottles; weak medium subangular blocky structure; 0.1 roots; fragments; gradual wavy boundary.
