Lab sample # 40A04090. Many fine sand-size fragments; few 5-to 50-mm. volcanic pebbles.
B—13 to 30 centimeters (5.1 to 11.8 inches); dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) and grayish brown (2.5Y 5/2) weathered bedrock; massive; slightly hard, friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; fragments; neutral, pH 7.0, unspecified; gradual wavy boundary. Lab sample # 40A04091. Very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) clay on seams an in pockets (about 15 percent by volume); saprolite can be broken easily with fingers.
R—30 to 38 centimeters (11.8 to 15.0 inches); fragments. Lab sample # 40A04092. Hard volcanic rock that cannot be broken easily with spade.
