Most pebbles are rhyolite, with a few andesite pebbles and rounded pebbles of mixed lithology. Many pebbles have a thin, discontinuous or continuous coating of black desert varnish. A layer of loose sand, 1 to 2 mm. thick, occurs discontinuously between pebbles.
