A—0 to 8 centimeters (0.0 to 3.1 inches); black (N 2/0) interior, gray (10YR 6/1) interior, dry; fine sand; weak fine granular structure; friable; fragments; strongly acid, pH 5.1, hellige-truog; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 88P03758
E—8 to 25 centimeters (3.1 to 9.8 inches); grayish brown (10YR 5/2) interior fine sand; weak fine granular structure; friable; fragments; strongly acid, pH 5.1, hellige-truog; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 88P03759
A'—25 to 38 centimeters (9.8 to 15.0 inches); dark reddish brown (5YR 3/2) interior and yellowish red (5YR 5/6) interior coarse sand; fragments. Lab sample # 88P03760. Loose material between fragments is (2.5Y 6/4) light yellowish brown loamy sand. Weakly cemented fragments ranging in size from 3 to 30 cm. This layer appears to be continuous with fragments 10- 15 cm thick.
Bt—38 to 79 centimeters (15.0 to 31.1 inches); brownish yellow (10YR 6/6) interior very fine sandy loam; weak fine subangular blocky structure; friable; fragments; strongly acid, pH 5.2, hellige-truog; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # 88P03761. Less than 5% fine quatzite pebbles.
BC—79 to 107 centimeters (31.1 to 42.1 inches); brownish yellow (10YR 6/6) interior loamy fine sand; massive; friable; fragments; strongly acid, pH 5.2, hellige-truog. Lab sample # 88P03762. Few fine gray (10YR 6/1) gray bodies that appear initially to be drainage—on close examination they are discrete bodies within the matrix.
