    A—0 to 10 centimeters (0.0 to 3.9 inches); dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2), light brownish gray (10YR 6/2), dry; fine sandy loam; weak coarse platy parts to weak fine granular structure; slightly hard, very friable, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; 0.5 very fine and fine roots; 3.0 very fine and fine and medium and 0.5 coarse vesicular pores; fragments; moderately alkaline, pH 8.0, hellige-truog; abrupt smooth boundary.
