    A1—0 to 8 centimeters (0.0 to 3.1 inches); dark gray (5Y 4/1), light brownish gray (2.5Y 6/2), dry; sandy loam; moderate coarse platy structure; hard when dry, firm, slightly sticky, nonplastic; 21.0 very fine roots and fine and medium roots; 3.0 very fine and fine tubular pores; fragments; very strongly alkaline, pH 9.2, hellige-truog; clear smooth boundary. Common snail shells; strongly effervescent with disseminated lime. 1 to 4 inches thick. The A horizon has a hue of 2.5Y, 5Y or 10YR; a value of 4 through 6 dry, 3 or 4 moist. Reaction is strongly alkaline. SAR is 13 to 25 and EC is 2 to 5.

The A horizon has a hue of 2.5Y, 5Y, or 10YR; a value of 4 through 6 dry, 3 or 4 moist. Reaction is strongly or very strongly alkaline. SAR is 13 to 25 and EC is 2 to 5.

Horizon is 50 percent A material and 50 percent B material; SAR of 19, EC of 2 CACO3 of 21 percent; strongly effervescent with disseminated lime. 6 to 10 inches thick. The A horizon has a hue of 2.5Y, 5Y, or 10YR; a value of 4 through 6 dry, 3 or 4 moist. Reaction is strongly or very strongly alkaline. SAR is 13 to 25 and EC is 2 to 5. The B horizon has a value of 6 through 8 dry, 4 through 6 moist. Reaction is strongly or very strongly alkaline. SAR is 10 to 20 and EC is 1 to 3. The percent calcium carbonate is 10 to 20 percent.

The B horizon has a value of 6 through 8 dry, 4 through 6 moist. Reaction is strongly or very strongly alkaline SAR is 10 to 20 and EC is 1 to 3. The percent calcium carbonate is 10 to 20 percent. The C horizon has a value of 6 or 7 dry, 3 through 5 moist, and chroma of 1 or 2. Reaction is moderately to very strongly alkaline. Effervescence is slight to strongly effervescent.
