A—0 to 10 centimeters (0.0 to 3.9 inches);, very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) crushed, moist; loam; 16 percent clay; weak medium subangular blocky parts to moderate fine granular, and weak medium subangular blocky parts to moderate medium granular structure; 5.0 very fine roots throughout and 5.0 fine roots throughout; fragments; very slight effervescence, by hcl, 1n; gradual wavy boundary.; moist when described; observed in pit, small. The data entered in the pedon horizon lab data results table for this horizon are from KSSL lab pedon id 11N0424, sample # 11N02206.
Bw—10 to 25 centimeters (3.9 to 9.8 inches);, very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) crushed, moist; clay loam; 34 percent clay; moderate medium subangular blocky, and weak medium subangular blocky structure; 5.0 very fine roots throughout and 5.0 fine roots throughout; fragments; slight effervescence, by hcl, 1n; gradual wavy boundary.; moist when described; observed in pit, small. The data entered in the pedon horizon lab data results table for this horizon are from KSSL lab pedon id 11N0424, sample # 11N02207.
Bky—25 to 46 centimeters (9.8 to 18.1 inches);, brown (10YR 4/3) crushed, moist; sandy clay loam; 34 percent clay; moderate medium subangular blocky, and weak medium subangular blocky structure; 3.0 very fine roots throughout and 3.0 fine roots throughout; 1 percent fine distinct irregular weakly coherent cemented light gray (10YR 7/2), moist, salt crystals with clear boundaries in matrix and 3 percent fine distinct irregular weakly coherent cemented light gray (10YR 7/2), moist, carbonate masses with clear boundaries in matrix; fragments; strong effervescence, by hcl, 1n; gradual wavy boundary.; moist when described; observed in pit, small. The data entered in the pedon horizon lab data results table for this horizon are from KSSL lab pedon id 11N0424, sample # 11N02208.; The horizon designation was changed from Bk1 to Bky because the described salt crystals have been changed to gypsum masses after review of similar soils in the same landform location as this site. In these pedons the described salt crystals were found to be gypsum masses.
Bk—46 to 65 centimeters (18.1 to 25.6 inches);, dark brown (10YR 3/3) crushed, moist; sandy clay loam; 34 percent clay; weak medium subangular blocky, and moderate medium subangular blocky structure; 0.5 very fine roots throughout and 0.5 fine roots throughout; 1 percent fine faint irregular weakly coherent cemented dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/6), moist, masses of oxidized iron in matrix; 2 percent fine distinct irregular weakly coherent cemented light brownish gray (10YR 6/2), moist, carbonate masses with clear boundaries in matrix and 1 percent medium distinct irregular weakly coherent cemented light brownish gray (10YR 6/2), moist, carbonate masses with clear boundaries in matrix; 8 percent by volume nonflat subrounded very strongly coherent cemented 2-?-20 millimeter igneous, unspecified fragments; strong effervescence, by hcl, 1n; clear wavy boundary.; moist when described; observed in pit, small. The data entered in the pedon horizon lab data results table for this horizon are from KSSL lab pedon id 11N0424, sample # 11N02209.; The horizon designation was changed from Bt to Bw1 because there were no clay films described in this horizon and there is no other indication that there is accumulation of clay.
2C—65 to 150 centimeters (25.6 to 59.1 inches);, yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) crushed, moist; sand; 4 percent clay; single grain; 2 percent coarse distinct irregular weakly coherent cemented strong brown (7.5YR 4/6), moist, masses of oxidized iron in matrix and 5 percent medium distinct irregular weakly coherent cemented yellowish brown (10YR 5/6), moist, masses of oxidized iron in matrix; 5 percent by volume nonflat subrounded very strongly coherent cemented 2-?-20 millimeter igneous, unspecified fragments; noneffervescent, by hcl, 1n; clear wavy boundary.; wet when described; observed in pit, small. The data entered in the pedon horizon lab data results table for this horizon are from KSSL lab pedon id 11N0424, sample # 11N02210.
3Cg1—150 to 198 centimeters (59.1 to 78.0 inches);, black (N 2.5/), crushed, moist; silty clay loam; 36 percent clay; massive; fragments; noneffervescent, by hcl, 1n; clear wavy boundary.; wet when described; observed in pit, small. The data entered in the pedon horizon lab data results table for this horizon are from KSSL lab pedon id 11N0424, sample # 11N02211.
3Cg2—198 to 200 centimeters (78.0 to 78.7 inches); silty clay loam; 38 percent clay; massive; fragments; noneffervescent, by hcl, 1n.; wet when described; observed in pit, small
