    A1—0 to 5 centimeters (0.0 to 2.0 inches); very dark gray (10YR 3/1) and dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) Error; weak fine granular structure; very friable; fragments. Lab sample # OSU0001340. A shallow covering of leaves, leaf mold, and litter overlays the 10YR 3/1 layer. The 10YR 3/1 color occurs in a layer 0.25 to 0.50 inches thick and overlays the 10YR 4/2 color.
