    Ap1—0 to 8 centimeters (0.0 to 3.1 inches); brown (10YR 4/3) Error; strong fine and medium platy structure; friable; fragments; neutral, pH 6.8; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0011664. Top inch of horizon has somewhat granular structure. Slightly hard when dry.
    Ap2—8 to 18 centimeters (3.1 to 7.1 inches); brown (10YR 4/3) Error; weak subangular blocky structure; firm; fragments; slightly acid, pH 6.2; abrupt smooth boundary. Lab sample # OSU0011665. Hard when dry. Moisture level of top 7 inches was approaching wilting point when sampled.
