  • Site Text Note(s): MISCELLANEOUS NOTES - SOBRANTE fTAX.) LOAM -C - - X Location: Butte County, California; SW/4, NW/4, 5.16, T.18N, R.5E, MMD. ^^* Described by: BFS, JIM. Date Sampled: 07/66. Classification: Fine-loamy, mixed, thermic Ultic Haploxeralf. Vegetation: Interior live oak, Blue oak, grasses and Digger pine. Climate: The precipitation is 29 inches per year. Mean annual temperature is 63 deg. F, with Jan. mean of 47 deg. F, and July mean of 82 deg. F. Parent Material: Greenstone. Geologic Formation: Jura-Trias Metavolcanic Rock. Topography: This soil occurred at an elevation of 575 feet, on a lower third hill slope of simple, uniform, gently sloping relief (4% slope) with a west aspect. This soil has moderate permeability, is well drained, with medium runoff. Remarks: This soil differs from typical Sobrante in having less than 75% base saturation in the upper part of the argillic horizon.
