    Ap—0 to 15 centimeters (0.0 to 5.9 inches); brown (10YR 5/3) crushed, light gray (10YR 7/2), dry; fine sandy loam; weak fine granular structure; loose; fragments; diffuse boundary. Lab sample # 40A30588. pinholes and wormholes are common.
    A2—15 to 30 centimeters (5.9 to 11.8 inches); yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) and strong brown (7.5YR 5/6), very pale brown (10YR 7/3) crushed, dry; fine sandy loam; weak fine granular structure; loose; fragments; diffuse boundary. Lab sample # 40A30589. pinholes are numerous and wormholes are common in the horizon; the proportion of brown is higher in the lower part of the horizon.

Simonson considers horizon a faint brittle pan; few pinholes in horizon; spots of yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) are numerous, medium to coarse in size, and of medium contrast; the proportion of yellowish brown increases with depth in the horizon and exceeds that of reddish yellow in the lower part.
