A2—10 to 33 centimeters (3.9 to 13.0 inches); pale yellow (2.5Y 7/4) loamy fine sand; weak medium granular structure; friable; 0.5 roots; fragments. Lab sample # 40A38506. contains very little or no organic matter and only a few roots.
B1—33 to 102 centimeters (13.0 to 40.2 inches); brownish yellow (10YR 6/6) loamy fine sand; weak medium granular structure; friable; fragments. Lab sample # 40A38507. A little gray to white feathering noted below 24 inches and this increases gradually with depth. Texture becomes a little heavier in lower few inches.
B2—102 to 152 centimeters (40.2 to 59.8 inches); brownish yellow (10YR 6/8) fine sandy loam; 1 percent strong brown (7.5YR 5/8) medium distinct mottles; moderate fine and medium granular structure; friable; 1 percent noncoherent cemented iron concretions; fragments; gradual boundary. Lab sample # 40A38508. A little feathering of light gray to white noted.
2C—152 to 190 centimeters (59.8 to 74.8 inches); red (10R 4/8) and light gray (2.5Y 7/2) sandy clay loam; 21 percent reddish yellow (7.5YR 6/8) medium and coarse distinct mottles; friable, weakly coherent; 21 percent iron concretions; fragments; diffuse broken boundary.
